Introducing
Stonewood Inpatient Hospice Unit
Patient Care First. Always.
Stonewood Hospice is proud to announce the first dedicated General Inpatient (GIP) Hospice Unit of its kind in our community — a 24/7 facility designed around comfort, dignity, and the families we serve. Located in the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, TX.
A new kind of hospice care, close to home.
Our General Inpatient (GIP) Unit is built around four promises that shape everything we do.
24/7 Specialized Care
Hospice-trained nurses and physicians provide round-the-clock pain and symptom management that can't be delivered at home.
Learn MorePrivate Patient Rooms
Quiet, homelike rooms with space for family, natural light, and the dignity every patient deserves.
Learn MoreFamily-Centered Support
Social workers, chaplains, and bereavement counselors walking alongside your entire family — not just your loved one.
Learn MoreOur Care Team
An interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, aides, chaplains, and counselors — united by one promise: patient care first.
Learn MoreTo honor every life with comfort, dignity, and hope — together with the families we serve.
Vision
To be Southeast Texas's leading hospice provider — known for raising the standard of inpatient care and treating every patient as family.
Our Promise
Nurse-to-patient ratios that protect care. A homelike setting, not an institutional one. Decisions made with — never for — patients and families.
What guides every decision we make
Compassion
Every interaction guided by empathy and the recognition that our patients are someone's beloved.
Dignity
Honoring each life with respect, privacy, and the highest standard of personal care.
Excellence
Hospice-certified clinicians, evidence-based care, and ratios that protect quality over throughput.
Presence
Round-the-clock attention so no one — patient or family — ever feels alone.

Independent Care
Located Within The Medical Center of Southeast Texas
Stonewood Hospice Inpatient Unit is located inside The Medical Center of Southeast Texas for the convenience of patients, families, and care partners. However, our inpatient hospice unit is independently operated by Stonewood Hospice.
Our care is provided by Stonewood's own specialized hospice team — including our clinical staff, care professionals, and support team. While we are grateful to have a peaceful space within the medical center, Stonewood Hospice is not owned, operated, or staffed by The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
This allows our team to provide the same compassionate, comfort-focused care families expect from Stonewood — with the added support of a private inpatient setting when a higher level of hospice care is needed.
In their words.

"After years in healthcare, I have never seen a team so committed to comfort and dignity. They truly are raising the standard."
— Referring Physician
"They didn't just care for Dad — they cared for all of us. We will never forget what they did for our family."
— Grateful Daughter
